In Conversation with Queer East Film Festival, by Queermunity​ 

It is often all too easy to assume that the International LGBT+ community is a homogenous entity, with everyone fighting the exact same battles and facing the same situations. However, this is far from the truth and often overlooks and obscures the beautiful diversity that exists within the community. In order to better understand ourselves we must first start to understand each other and this is exactly what Queer East Film Festival aims to achieve. Showcasing the stories and journeys of the LGBT+ community in East and Southeast Asia they “want everyone in the UK to...celebrate diverse identities, cultures, and heritages of Asian and Asian diasporic communities who have often been excluded from mainstream discourse."
